Architecture week has been filled with drawing plans and exploring new building materials.
Our Art campers worked to paint their recycled buildings on Tuesday. They experimented with paint palettes and large brushes to color their projects. It is fun to watch their designs grow and change. On Thursday, Mr. Perry will help us put the finishing touches on our buildings and then turn them into a group cityscape. We can't wait for you to see our project at the Friday morning showcase! We also turned long pool noodles into ramps on Tuesday and rolled objects down the ramps. The children were able to play with the angles of the ramps and watch them roll faster or slower depending on their angles. Everyone wanted more than one turn to roll items down the ramp!
Check our the blog post, Innovative Architecture for a look into what our Innovation campers have been up to during architecture week. I was so impressed by their project that I felt they deserved their own post! During Black Rocket time, they are creating their own video games this week. Their work includes creating characters, setting, start buttons and much more! See you on Friday to check out their final game!
On Wednesday we discovered that building could be part of our water play experiences too. Campers spent water time building with noodles at the sensory table. They also designed ramps tomake water flow into buckets off the table. A car wash was set up in the parking lot. Complete with soapy sponges, a hose for rinsing and rags for drying, it was the real deal! Maybe some of our campers can help wash the cars this weekend! : )
Just a reminder that Friday morning we will have our Friday Showcase at drop off time. Innovation parents, please join us Friday afternoon at 3pm for our video game presentation. I hope to see you there!
