I hope that many of you were able to see the incredible block building in our Commons on Tuesday. Our Innovation campers were given the task to design a floor plan of a house for Mr. Poli, our architect teacher. They began with a simple L shape and collectively made a list of the many things he would need in his house. After drawing and designing a one bedroom, one bathroom for Mr. Poli, they set off for the Commons to make their design a reality.
Following a masking tape border, they began blocking off the space. They used the dolly to move a play kitchen set from our preschool into their design. Their work included hand made chairs from tinker toys, a bed and a couch where Mr. Poli can sit and drink his coffee. Campers gathered props from around PJS to include a table cloth, flowers and pillows for a more cozy atmosphere.
It became a great place to play together and got Mr. Poli's stamp of approval too! What a wonderful collaborative project for architecture week. : )
