Our 5-10 year old campers performed in a play today and it was a wonderful success! Thank you to all the parents who shared in our morning showcase of the children's work and came to the watch their performance of Sleeping Beauties. Before afternoon pickup, campers performed for our 2-4 year old campers as their first dress rehearsal.
At the end of the performance, campers asked the audience for questions that our younger campers may have for them. It was interesting to hear the questions and responses from the campers. Andrew, a 4 year old camper, commented about a musical cinderella that he has if any of the older campers would be interested in playing with it. Ms. Kristyn asked our campers how they chose their parts and Sophia was happy to explain the process. She said, " Two people wanted to be Sleeping Beauty so we decided that one would be baby sleeping beauty and the other can be the older sleeping beauty." Selah, a 4 year old camper said, "I really like the show, how did you pick your costumes?" This time Reed, our counselor in training, was happy to explain the costume making process. She said, "We found a big box of materials and costumes in the school. Some costumes were made and others were premade."
After three dress rehearsals today, our campers were ready to perform for all their friends and family.
Hope you enjoyed the show!
