What a fun time we had at our first Water Play Wednesday! The campers arrived ready in their swim gear and excited to start splashing! With a sprinkler, swimming pool, water tables and water sprayers, there were lots of ways to cool off from the summer heat. It was fun to watch our young campers run from one activity to the next, hardly knowing what to choose! Many of our older campers enjoyed the challenge of target practice with our water sprayers.
We took advantage of being in our bathing suits and our youngest campers really got into the spirit of Art and You through body painting. Many of them loved rolling around in paint and leaving their mark. The children were thrilled to see the pool change to a deep shade of purple as their paint washed off. I can't wait for you to see the amazingly beautiful art that resulted at our Friday showcase. I also hope that you were able to get the remaining paint off your little ones tonight!
Our Innovation campers have been busy running around PJS filming their mystery movie. They were eager to share props they had brought from home to include in their film. It has been fun to watch them work the cameras, direct one another and star as actors in the movie. I can't wait to see the finished project on Friday afternoon! Every time I step into the Innovation room, I am impressed by the work the campers are doing on their self-portraits. They have moved onto the step of shaping their facial features with clay and have become quite skilled at sculpting within this medium. The finished project will be a result of much effort, thoughtfulness and creativity.
For now, enjoy these pictures of our projects in process. We look forward to showing you our work on Friday!
